NEIBORHOOD DEFINITION

The lower East Side roughly runs from Houston Street down to Canal Street, Eldridge to the East River Park.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE

The architectures in LES (Lower East Side) include Romanesque and Gothic revival buildings, walk-ups, and a few glass-and-steel contemporary high rises.

LANMARK

One of the landmarks here is the old restaurant Katz’s Deli. Another landmarked building is the current art and performances space – Angel Orensanz Center.

NEIGHBORHOOD

There are various options for nightlife in the LES. Music Venues with different scales and features cater for different preferences and tastes. Famous venues include Arlene’s Grocery, Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, and Cake Shop.
